Northwest Model United Nations Mission Statement
Northwest Model United Nations (NWMUN) is committed to embracing and spreading the spirit of Model United Nations by enhancing students’ understanding of the institutional and the political inner workings of the United Nations (UN). Through NWMUN, college students act as delegates of UN bodies and specialized agencies debating a range of issues, which are then presented in the form of resolutions and discussed in a manner consistent with the parliamentary procedure of the real UN. NWMUN holds itself in the same tradition of other Model United Nations conferences world-wide which constitute forums that cultivate international awareness and understanding, as well as providing ample opportunity for educational and cultural enrichment.
